In 1926 Musical short films were then produced by Warner brothers which featured many bands, vocalists and dancers which were typically produced for 6 minutes.
Then in the early 1930's Walt disney produced sing a long short cartoons called screen songs which aimed to get the audience to participate and sing along to by following the bouncy ball which showed where to sing.
In 1964 The Beatles starred in their first feature film called A hard days night, this film modeled many of their music videos. They were known to have started to use televisional media to promote themselves.
In the late 1970s Top of the pops began airing on the television and it showed music videos for the very first. In 1980 David Bowie got to number one thanks to his directors music video that was made for him for Ashes to Ashes.
MTV was then launched in 1981 which constantly aired music videos for 24 hours a day. This was known to have kickstarted the revolution of worldwide music videos as it grew to become one of the main sources of artist marketing.
Around 25 years later from the launch of MTV, the internet becomes video friendly and has since become the most popular source of music marketing due to the new technology thanks to itunes and the video website called youtube.
