Music Piracy and Copyright

Throughout the project we will constantly be dealing with both music piracy and copyright.
Music piracy is the illegal gain of using music with out paying the owner the rights or asking permission such as illegal downloading or the same as recording a cinema viewing and then making copies.
Music copyright exists on almost all signed acts preventing people using there music for there own purposes to gain profit. The copy right of a track will only last for 70 years after the artist has perished or and fade out after 100 years.
This would mean that before we create a music video for a record with existing copyright laws we will have to get in contact with the record label and ask permission to use the material.
